Life in the scrub
"Well life in the scrub is kinda laid back…" Despite being a city-slicker through and through, I'm actually a big Lee Kernaghan fan. But I have to disagree with these Country Boy lyrics. Lee has clearly never been on a Ten News/Q150 road trip!
What a sensational opportunity – a week on the road, crossing the State from east to west, traveling from Townsville to Mt Isa. We were following the path of the historic Q150 Steam Train. And we were on a mission to find the "true" Queensland along the way, to capture colour, characters, and countryside.
Our outback adventure was eye-opening, mesmerising and at times, even a little bizarre. We covered well over a thousand kilometers during our five days, and passed through places we'd never even heard of. The trip was a lot of things, but "laid back" certainly WASN'T one of them!
