Q150 documentaries
Q150 media partner Network Ten will screen Shaping the State, a fascinating documentary on the history of Queensland on Sunday 27 September at 4pm.
The documentary will take the viewer on an amazing journey from pre-colonial times to the establishment of the Moreton Bay penal settlement in 1825, the new colony of Queensland in 1859, through depression, two world wars, triumphs, tragedies and on to the present day.
The Q150 team worked together with Network Ten to secure copyright to some rare and fascinating archival footage shown during the program, including the first film ever taken in Queensland, shot in the Torres Strait Islands in 1898, and Queen Street in Brisbane as it was in 1899.
Don't miss this special program, specifically made as part of this year's Q150 celebrations, which is sure to entertain, educate and fascinate adults, kids, and history buffs alike.
