1. Australia Zoo
The story behind Australia Zoo and the 'Crocodile Hunter' Steve Irwin dates all the way back to the 1970s with the opening of the Beerwah Reptile Park on four acres in a tiny town in Queensland.

4. Bundaberg Rum Distillery
In 1888, the first barrel of Bundaberg Rum rolled off the production line. In 1986 the first tour guide was appointed to the distillery and it has now expanded into a tourist operation.
5. Big Pineapple
Originally opened in 1971, the 16 metre high Big Pineapple at Nambour remains one of Queensland's most famous tourist attractions.
6. South Bank Parklands
Well-known as the place to go for special occasions - it's where Brisbane comes together to celebrate.
7. Noosa
The Sunshine Coast's popular tourist spot, Noosa has many attractions including cafes, restaurants, shopping, art and jazz, surrounded by pristine beaches, a beautiful river and national park.
8. Breakfast Creek Hotel
Built in 1889 by former Lord Mayor of Brisbane William MacNaughton Galloway, the Breakfast Creek Hotel introduced many 'firsts' to Brisbane - including beer garden style dining (in the late 1940s), an outdoor kitchen where customers could choose their own steaks (the early 1960s), and a drive-through bottle-shop (the 1960s).
9. Yatala Pie Shop
Stopping to buy a Yatala Pie near Beenleigh has become something of a ritual for people travelling on the busy Pacific Motorway between the Gold Coast and Brisbane.
10. Barcaldine Tree of Knowledge
The 200 year old Ghost Gum at Barcaldine was said to be the meeting place of a group of protesting sheep shearers in 1891 that ultimately led to the founding of the Australian Labor Party. The tree was poisoned in 2006, and its remains were preserved.
11. Paronella Park
Built on five hectares of rainforest beside Mena Creek Falls, Paronella Park heritage gardens is a must see for all visitors to tropical North Queensland.
12. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary
The world's first and largest koala sanctuary, Lone Pine at Fig Tree Pocket, has been a family favourite for many years, and is home to many other native Australian animals.
13. Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
Established in 1947 (originally Currumbin Bird Sanctuary) in the pioneering days of Gold Coast tourism, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary has developed into a world-leader in the display and preservation of Australia's wildlife and natural heritage.
14. Great Dividing Range
Dauan Island off the northeastern tip of Queensland is the starting point for the Great Dividing Range, Australia's longest continual natural mountain range that runs for more than 3,500 km all the way down to western Victoria.
15. Darling Downs
The Darling Downs is extremely fertile agricultural land home to beautiful landscapes and pretty, historic towns.
