Q150 Steam Train conditions of travel
Welcome aboard your Q150 Steam Train experience!
Below is a list of handy travel information to make your Q150 rail journey all the more comfortable.
Luggage
Passenger luggage is defined as wearing apparel or toiletries carried for the personal use of the passenger.
Passengers may carry on one item of luggage free of charge. The maximum weight for the luggage is 20 kilograms, and the maximum size is 180 linear centimetres (the sum of the height plus the length plus the depth of an item).
The following luggage items are accepted by QR as carry on luggage, subject to the weight and size restrictions mentioned above:
- Suitcase
- Backpacks
- Travel bags
- Candy striped bags (up to 15kgs, is in good order and is clearly labelled).
All luggage should be labelled with a contact address, telephone number and the passenger's destination. This is the responsibility of the passenger.
The following items are not accepted as suitable containers for passenger's luggage, and will not be accepted as luggage by QR:
- Garbage bags
- Eskies
- Hessian bags
- Tea chests
- Golf buggies
- Boxes.
Collapsible baby strollers, prams and capsules will be accepted. Other items such as surfboards, bicycles and golf bags will not be accepted onboard.
For safety reasons, dangerous goods MUST NOT BE CARRIED in passenger’s luggage. Items such as compressed gasses (exemption for medicinal oxygen for consumption en route), corrosives, explosives, munitions, flammable liquids, plants or animal matter, biological hazards, radioactive materials, poisons and infectious substances. Medicines, toiletries such as hair sprays, perfumes and deodorants are acceptable.
Onboard food and beverages
A range of sandwiches, confectionary, tea and coffee, soft drinks, water and juices can be purchased onboard. Alcohol is not permitted on the journey.
Cancellation
Provided the reservation is cancelled prior to the departure of the service from the passenger's departure station, the fare will be refunded in full. If the passenger fails to board the train or cancel the booking prior to the designated departure, no refund will be issued.
Reduce the risk of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
QR Passenger cares about passengers’ safety and comfort onboard its trains. To reduce the risk of DVT, it is recommended to wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing. Avoid dehydration by regular intakes of water and avoid excess coffee and tea. Regular exercise is also important. For further information, please refer to the DVT pamphlets located onboard.
Concession cards/student cards
Persons travelling on a concession must carry the appropriate concession card or student card at all times throughout the journey and must present the card with the ticket if requested.
Dress regulations
The minimum dress requirement is clean and tidy casual clothing. Footwear must be worn at all times when moving throughout the train. Passengers boarding the train must adhere to an acceptable standard of cleanliness and personal hygiene and maintain this standard throughout the journey.
