Number plates
To celebrate Queensland's 150th Celebrations (Q150) in 2009, the Queensland Government has commissioned a series of limited edition Q150 personalised number plates. Only 147 sets of the plates have been produced.
The plates are available from the Q150 unit (Department of the Premier and Cabinet) at a cost of $1,000 (inc GST) per set. Number plates are available until sold out.
Following purchase, the ownership of the plates will be transferred to the local business or council. Transfer of the number plates will be undertaken in line with Queensland Transport guidelines.
In keeping with these guidelines, you will be required to pay a modest transfer fee to Queensland Transport and complete the necessary Queensland Transport personalised number plate transfer forms.
It is expected that the receiving organisation will maintain the plates in reasonable condition.
How the plates can be used
It is intended that councils and businesses use the plates throughout 2008 to promote Q150, then during 2009, independently auction the plates and invest the funds raised in Q150 celebrations and projects within their communities. Any income raised through the auction of the number plates is to be administered by the relevant purchasing body and used solely for the purpose of promoting and commemorating Q150.
The plates are provided in good faith to Queensland local councils and organisations planning to participate in Q150 celebration activities in 2009. Usage of the plates or Q150 visual identity does not indicate Q150 or Queensland Government involvement or support – financial or otherwise – of local Q150 celebrations.
How to reserve a Q150 personalised number plate
To reserve a number plate, please complete the Expression of Interest form (Word, 43 KB) and Terms and Conditions of Purchase (Word, 40 KB).
Q150 will then confirm your allocated plates and arrange invoicing and delivery. The relevant Queensland Transport forms needed to enable you to transfer ownership of the plates and attach them to your nominated vehicle will also be provided.
